LAWRENCE JOINS MEN’S LACROSSE COACHING STAFF

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University men's lacrosse head coach Brian Fisher has announced the addition of Daniel Lawrence as an assistant coach.

Lawrence comes to Monmouth after nine seasons as the head coach at Maritime College, where he led the program to a 10-5 record in 2018. He led the Privateers to a 4-2 conference record and the No. 2 seed in the Skyline Conference before earning Coach of the Year honors.

"We are all excited to have Dan join our program and the fresh perspective he will bring when we get started in January," Fisher said. "He brings a wealth of experience and coaching acumen to our program and his passion for the sport will greatly benefit the guys on our team."

Lawrence held a 51-85 record at Maritime and led the program to three Skyline Conference Tournament appearances, including hosting a postseason game a season ago. Under Lawrence's tutelage, 21 all-conference honors were handed out to his student-athletes during his tenure as head coach.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities at Maritime, Lawrence also maintained Assistant Athletic Director duties since 2007. He served as the department's Admission Liaison and Recruiting Coordinator, NCAA Compliance Coordinator, Banner Department Administrator, Intramural Sport Supervisor and Regimental Liaison.

Lawrence's coaching career began at Pfeiffer University as the Head Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach in 2003, where he spent three seasons prior to joining the staff at Maritime in the same role. After two seasons, he was promoted to Associate Head Coach and held that title in 2008 and 2009, before assuming head coaching responsibilities prior to the 2010 season.

A 2000 graduate of Springfield College, Lawrence earned his Bachelor of Science degree in General Studies with a concentration in Physical Education. A native of Long Island, NY, Lawrence resides in Connecticut with his wife Sarah and their children, Noah and Molly.
